This study explores the theological and educational significance of Christian Religious Education (CRE) teachers’ professionalism and its contribution to the intellectual and spiritual development of students at SMA Negeri 2 Bitung. Using a qualitative theological approach, this research examines how the integration of professional competence and spiritual vocation shapes the holistic formation of learners. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and document analysis, then interpreted using theological reflection and practical theology frameworks. The findings reveal that the professionalism of CRE teachers extends beyond pedagogical competence it embodies a divine calling (vocation) to guide students toward the knowledge of God and the maturity of faith. The study argues that true professionalism in Christian education involves a synthesis between intellectual discipline and spiritual wisdom, where teaching becomes a form of ministry and worship. This integration produces a transformative learning environment that nurtures both cognitive and spiritual growth, aligning education with the redemptive purpose of God. The study contributes to the field of practical theology and Christian education by proposing that teacher professionalism should be redefined theologically as participation in God’s redemptive mission through education.
