Abstract

This article examines the application of management principles found in Exodus 18:1-27 in the context of church management in the era of Society 5.0. Using a qualitative approach and case study method, this research explores the relevance of Jethro's advice to Moses, particularly in terms of task delegation, organisational structure, and spiritual leadership, to the managerial practices of today's churches facing digital transformation. The findings show that the principles of division of responsibilities, leader qualifications, and collective decision-making are still very applicable in the modern church context. Churches that are able to integrate Biblical managerial principles with the utilisation of digital technologies, such as online communication platforms and congregational data management, experience increased efficiency and congregational participation. On the other hand, challenges such as digital literacy gaps and privacy issues become obstacles. This study offers a model of integration between theological principles and contemporary management strategies that can be used by churches to answer the challenges of the times in a relevant manner and remain grounded in the values of faith.
